Dr. Forester Gholston
Practice OwnerDr. Forester Gholston has been connected to veterinary medicine for as long as he can remember. Growing up on a farm in Alpharetta, GA—where his family raised Simmental cattle, Tennessee Walking Horses, and bird dogs—he developed a deep love for animals and the hands-on care they require. With his father working as a veterinarian, he was introduced early to the profession that would ultimately become his life’s passion.
Dr. Gholston completed his undergraduate studies at Berry College before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Georgia. With 14 years of experience in general practice, he has extensive training in orthopedics and performs a wide range of procedures, including Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomies (TPLOs), other orthopedic surgeries, and a broad variety of soft tissue surgeries.
While he enjoys surgery, Dr. Gholston values all aspects of veterinary medicine. His greatest fulfillment comes from forming long-term relationships with clients and helping their pets live healthy, comfortable lives through personalized, compassionate care.
Dr. Gholston lives in Hickory Flat with his family including their two Labradors, Murphy and Wennie. Outside the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and cheering on Georgia football.
